This adaptive reuse project transformed a vacant former machine shop into a sleek gray office building featuring zinc metal panels and ribbon windows. The building, with its long, open, highbay space, provided the designers with great flexibility in laying out conference rooms, offices, production and support facilities, and the large, open studio that facilitates interdisciplinary communication.
The design features operable windows and solar shades to reduce energy requirements; carpeting in the studio, conference, and production areas; hardwood floors in the executive offices, and ceramic tile in the foyer. A total gut of the building – retaining only the roof, structure and base slab – and redesign of the building included interior design and fitout. HACBM provided all architectural, interiors, landscape architecture, and site and building engineering services.
